East Angel Packs & Food Pantry
**Please contact coordinator for available opportunities.**
Population: East families with limited or inadequate access to nutritional food.
Commitment:
Angel Packs-1hr shift on Fridays after-school  
East Pantry- 3hr shift once a month on a Saturday.
Volunteer at the Food Bank of the Rockies-3hr shift once a month.
Frequency:  Volunteer can determine number   
Location: East Commons (Cafeteria)
Description:
  • Assist with handing out bags of free non-perishable food to students on Fridays after-school or setting up and staffing Pantry for East families to get free non-perishable and fresh food one Saturday a month.
  • You will work with other volunteers and train on the job.
 Criteria: 
  • East parent
  • Friendly and welcoming!
  • DPS background check and training as necessary.
 
Student Volunteer Opportunities
  • Angel Packs Club- assembles bags once a week at lunchtime and periodically volunteers at the Food Bank of the Rockies for a 3hr shift.

Alumni Relations Committee
Social Media/Communication Coordinator

Description:
  • Assist  in develop our outreach to younger alums and to help build connections between recent East grads and current East students.

  • East graduates from 1970s, 1980s or 1990s classes

Building & Grounds Committee
East High Brick & Granite Paver Chair
  
 
Commitment: On-going monthly meetings
Frequency: Volunteer can work independently and on largely on their own time     
Location: Flexible
Description:
  • Work with EAFAF development, buildings & grounds committees and the school to help market brick and granite paver sales to students, parents, alumni, clubs, athletic teams and local foundations.
  • Process brick and paver orders (online)
  • Work with vendor to schedule engraving

Community Engagement Committee
Grocery Card Volunteers

Commitment:  Monthly with max of 10 hours
Frequency:  Varies

Description:
  • Sell pre-paid Safeway and King Soopers cards to East parents
  • Form a committee to attend the big events to sell the cards
  • Follow up twice per year with emails
  • Establish an easy online ordering program

Criteria: 
  • This role incorporates strategy and real “doing”.
  • It involves coordinating responsive communications for various initiatives of the Foundation from potlucks to alumni events to fundraising campaigns.

Speakers Forum Volunteers

  • Coordinate with the school to find two topical speakers per year that are relevant and supportive of the East parents and faculty
  • Budget for hiring speakers provided
  • Coordinate publicity with communications committee volunteers
  • Organize hospitality for the events

Development & Grant Writing Committee

Description:
  • ​Help write grants for East programs.
  • Review EAFAF files for past grant applications and re-apply to those that are successful.
  • Research new grant opportunities offered by banks,corporations, and.  individual family foundations.
  • Assist in coordinating  fun donor and volunteer recognition parties.
  • Spearhead annual fundraising mailing.​

Finance Committee

Description:
  • Train under the out-going EAFAF treasurer. 
  • Position will be on the board, chair the finance committee and be part of the Executive Committee.

  • Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and/or finance.

Marketing & Communications Committee
Marketing & Communication Volunteers

Commitment:  Monthly with max of 10 hours

Description:
  • Provide and edit content for email communications and other materials
  • Work with our webmaster to keep our website current and informative

Criteria: 
  • This role incorporates strategy and real “doing”.
  • It involves coordinating responsive communications for various initiatives of the Foundation from potlucks to alumni events to fundraising campaigns.

East Spirit Store   *Space available.*  
Volunteer Store Manager for 2019-2020 school year. 

Population: All students        
Commitment: Two year Commitment (2019-2020 & 2020-2021 school years)
Description:
  • First year dedicated to training and working with current Store Manager.
  •  2nd year will working with and train the next Store Manager. 
Criteria:
  • East Parent
  • Friendly and welcoming!
  • Detail-oriented
  • DPS supervised background clearance. On-site training is necessary.

Store Volunteers
Population:
 All students        
Commitment: One day a week for one hour during school lunch time.
Frequency: 1x a week (or share a shift)                       
Location: East 2nd Floor (to the left of the main office)
Description:
  • Assist with purchases and questions at the school spirit store.
Criteria:
  • East Parent
  • Friendly and welcoming!
  • Detail-oriented
  • DPS supervised background clearance. Some on-site training as necessary.

East Staff & Parent Potluck Team

Population: Parents &Staff             Commitment: Varies according to event
Frequency: 1-4 times during the school year (2 potlucks per semester)   Location(s): Parent Homes
Support:
  • This is a relaxed atmosphere for parents to talk more with staff and learn about each department.
  • Each potluck highlights specific departments.
  • Host a potluck or provide an appetizer or dessert for 8-12 people to share at the event.
